This is a picture made in Photoshop. I have used the look of Pop_art in that there are half-tone dots over the picture. The work is roughly based on the Whaam! painting by Lichtenstein, although mine does not look so dynamic as his. If I were to do the work again I would angle the plane so that it looks as if it might be taking a nose dive. The lettering needs to be completed and the fire might look better if instead of there just being three separate layers of red, yellow and white, they were somehow integrated and I perhaps could have some smoke coming from the engine. If I have time I shall improve it.

Puppet

This is an unfinished drawing of a puppet based upon one designed by Sophie Taeuber-Arp.

I have been using a range of tools in Photoshop including the pen, lasso, ellipse, direct selection and gradients. The main areas of the drawing are made with the pen tool and then modified. If I drew out the shape I found it easier to rasterise the shape and then colour it. The shadows were placed on the puppet by using the lasso tool, feathering the selection and filling with a colour.

I intend to finish the puppet completely and then go back and try and improve the work. The hand and arm do not look right as the colours in the gradient are slightly different. Areas like the feather on the head needs to be modelled to make it look more realistic. Overall though I am pleased with the result as it stands at the moment.
